Abstract:
In recent years substantial interest has developed in shortcut methods for estimating final-demand multipliers. This paper proposes a procedure which simplifies the mathematical formulae for such multipliers. It is considered that the procedure developed is most appropriate for investigating interindustry relationships of small regions, and its greatest advantage lies in its value as a resource saving alternative to traditional input–output final-demand multipliers.
