Abstract: This paper starts by discussing the relationships between process and map structure and the nature of certain types of geographical spaces. There is then a discussion of urban population distributions, which are here classified as statistically nonhomogeneous. This leads to the use of different statistical techniques from those employed in the previous paper, and a simple example based on the Beckmann–McPherson model with the use of the SW Wisconsin data is presented.
