Provision and Wellbeing: An Agenda for Public Resources Research

K Jones and A Kirby

Environment and Planning A, 1982, vol. 14, issue 3, 297-310

Abstract: This paper begins by assessing the state of public facility location research, and follows Dear in suggesting that a new context for analysis is required. Such a context is outlined, placing public goods within a chain of provision that links social policy with the individual's quality of life. Parts of this argument are illustrated with recourse to preliminary empirical work undertaken in Reading on aspects of health-care provision.
