Abstract:
Previous models of interregional trade flows are briefly reviewed and a model that incorporates both supply and demand determinants as well as the relative spatial advantage of each region is considered. An Alonso-type framework is derived and a specific model is proposed together with its solution for all the unknown variables. Algorithms necessary for flexible and consistent prediction are presented. A regional input-output model can also be included in the model presented.
