Abstract: This is the second paper in a three part series being published in successive issues of this journal. The basic structure of the Peterborough economy is illustrated with the aid of two input—output tables, one showing the intraurban economic linkages, the other showing the sectoral breakdown of imports into the city. Later the direct and indirect effects of increasing sectoral final demand sales are considered with the aid of a Leontief inverse table derived from the basic transactions matrix. Finally the induced effects of household consumption are investigated by treating the household sector endogenously and computing a second inverse matrix.
