Location of the Median Line for Weighted Points

Abstract: This paper presents a method for finding a median line or lines for a set of weighted points on a plane. This line is defined as the one that minimizes the sum of weighted perpendiculars from the points to the line. Among the possible applications is the design of transportation corridors.
