Dimensioning of Architectural Floor Plans under Conflicting Objectives

M Balachandran and J S Gero

Environment and Planning B, 1987, vol. 14, issue 1, 29-37

Abstract: In this paper a systematic approach to dimensioning architectural floor plans to optimize multiple conflicting objectives is presented. The methodology is applied to solve the dimensioning problem of a house plan, where construction cost, total floor area and proportion ratio were considered the noncommensurable objectives.
