India's Foreign Trade in Cashew

P. Unneen Kutty

Foreign Trade Review, 2001, vol. 36, issue 3-4, 32-47

Abstract: Cashew industry in India exports cashew kernels to more than 60 countries in the world. Since domestic production of cashew nuts is inadequate to meet the country's export and domestic consumption demands, the industry imports cashew nuts from other countries as well. The study makes an attempt to identify the recent trends in the domestic production and imports of cashew nuts, and exports of cashew kernels and cashew nut shell liquid. The study finally brings out certain policy recommendations.
