Abstract: The pre-dominance of power in infrastructure industry is a pivotal one and with the emergence of knowledge economy, it is imperative to use knowledge as an asset in power industry. Largely, knowledge-driven processes have occupied the central place in power industry as well. This necessitates that knowledge management is implemented in letter and spirit in this industry. Knowledge management processes are the most crucial part of knowledge management. This article outlines the knowledge management processes through an empirical study of the two leading power companies of India that is, NTPC and POWERGRID. The study has been carried out in these two companies by using secondary and primary data collected from various published sources besides from the companies under study.
