Indian Journal of Human Development, 2016, vol. 10, issue 1, 1-9
Abstract:
There is intense debate all over the world about future of work. This paper 1 discusses the current and future challenges in the world of work, at the global level, looking at the recent economic and labour market developments and income inequality. The challenge in India is also complex and there are four issues—promoting employment-intensive growth, boosting female labour force participation, facilitating transition to formal employment and formal firms and strengthening labour market institutions—which are critical ones in the context of the future challenges in the labour market.
