Indian Journal of Gender Studies, 2017, vol. 24, issue 2, 281-307
Abstract:
In this article, I will discuss the portrayal of Indira Gandhi in Vishwajyoti Ghosh’s graphic novel entitled Delhi Calm . Ghosh nicknames her Mother Moon. I will look at issues such as the conflation of the figure of the Mother Goddess and Indira Gandhi; the obliteration of the aspects of her feminine sexuality; the idea of the body politic and the body natural (for instance, the way in which her relationships with her son and her father are portrayed) and also, her political role.
