Abstract:
Richardson's article on the state of regional economics, recently published in this review, refers almost exclusively to English language literature. This note emphasizes the principal original ideas contributed by French regional economics, which is steering an increasingly solitary course. This brief survey deals with location, market areas, spatial interaction, and regional theory and economic policy.
