To the aim, in the first place, it traces the historical pattern of relations between the U. S. and Myanmar before the crisis. Secondly, this paper surveys U. S. policy toward Myanmar in the wake of the events of 1988. Finally, it evaluates a result of U. S. policy toward the Burmese government in the conflict.
