Performance Mantra of the Regional Rural Banks: An Evaluation between the Pre-merger and Post-merger Era

Abstract:
This article makes an attempt to analyze the performance of these Regional Rural Banks in the pre-merger and post-merger period, with the help of published data of 15 years, collected from the annual reports and financial statements of the RBI and NABARD. The article is analytical in nature and is simply based on the secondary data. With the help of statistical tools like “ t -test†the article tried to find out whether the performance of these banks improved after amalgamation. SPSS software has been used for the analysis and interpretation purpose.
