Abstract:
In March 2015, the United States Agency for International Development through the Local Enterprise Support Project hosted a series of city-to-city exchanges between two cities based in the United States and a number of cities in the country of Jordan. The purpose was to exchange ideas and best practices regarding local economic development. This is a reflection from those exchanges between representatives of the City of Pocatello, Idaho and various cities in the Irbid Governorate in northwestern Jordan. The proposed projects as well as the challenges with those projects in these cities in Jordan are explored in summary. Recommendations are also explored to facilitate future development in these cities.
