Shyam Bahadur Katuwal

Management and Labour Studies, 2007, vol. 32, issue 1, 102-111

Abstract: As a matter of concern for practising managers and academicians, “strike†is attempted to be studied froms various socio-economic perspectives. But very little attention is given to the study of strike from the prospective of workers' job satisfaction and their interest in politics. Thus, the present study is an attempt towards this direction. The study constitutes a sample of 372 workers selected on the basis of stratified proportionate-random sampling methods from four large-scale textile factories in Nepal. Strike prone attitude of workers was found negatively associated with job satisfaction whereas it was positive in the case of political affiliation attitudes of the workers.
