Abstract:
Population Change is a fascinating area of investigation attracting big interest of demographers in current times. In this paper, we attempt to introduce dynamic stochasticity through Markov models (See [3]) and employ the well known technique of ABC-Analysis (See [2]) to the immigration data and predict future state probabilities of the immigration process through È Csteady state†(See [31). To our knowledge, this is the first time that such a methodology is developed synthesising techniques in the theories of OR and Stochastic processes to investigate into the random phenomenon of migration. The theoretical results are supported by empirical work on the immigration data of Eritrea, during 1994 through 1997.
