Abstract:
Earlier functional approaches like marketing research, operation research management information system are now Jailing to yield successful strategic planning because of a continuous increase in the environmental entropy. This problem is engulfing the corporate world and there is a dire dearth for a remedial measure. While most of the thinkers are busy in search of an overall end solution, we have tried to define the starting problem and get into the roots of the same by critically examining many real life cases. And in the process of doing so, several strategic traps have been identified. We have grouped those strategic traps into seven different categories and illustrated them with a few typical examples.
