Abstract:
Empowerment is easy to preach yet difficult to implement. Contemporary Indian organisations are trying to move towards empowerment, as change has made it imperative. The present study analyses sixteen Indian cases of empowerment, using power enhancers as the guiding concept. Case survey method (Mathews, 1988) is employed and the cases are content analysed. The code of the analysis alongwith quantitative results and the indicative content of the cases are presented. The study confirms the presence of power enhancers in Indian organisations and suggests four new power enhancers which should be added to the present list, after factor analysis.
