Vikram Chadha

Paradigm, 2004, vol. 8, issue 2, 14-20

Abstract: The present paper aims at analyzing the stock of scientific and technical (S&T). Among engineering degree holders, the trend in the engineering branches of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering is tapering off in spite of their large proportion in the total stock of engineers. Nevertheless a rising growth rate has been observed in the case of electronics and telecommunication segments of engineering. Obviously the contemporary upsurge in the fields of computer software, IT and electronics industry, offering umpteen opportunities for gainful employment to these engineering specialists, has been responsible for this trend.
