Central City-Suburban Fiscal Disparities

Roy Bahl (), Jorge Martinez-Vazquez () and David Sjoquist

Public Finance Review, 1992, vol. 20, issue 4, 420-432

Abstract: Updated estimates of various measures of central city-suburban fiscal disparities are presented for 1987, along with previously published ACIR estimates for selected years. The estimates show that central city-suburban fiscal disparities have not changed dramatically over the past 30 years. Cross-sectional regressions estimated for four different years suggest that the explanations for the existence of fiscal disparities have not changed over time.
