Drugs and Pareto: a Methodological Abuse

Anthony Culyer

Public Finance Review, 1977, vol. 5, issue 3, 393-396

Abstract: This paper points out an elementary logical error in a recent criticism by J. Patrick Gunning of an article by the present author. It also argues that Gunning has confused the two criteria for improvements in social welfare that are associated with Pareto's name.
