Mapping the Mediasphere in Jammu & Kashmir

Abstract: The article documents the mediasphere in the state of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K). The analysis reveals a tremendous increase in the number of publications in the state of J&K over the period of time. On the basis of the data retrieved from the official website of the Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI), periodicals were also identified district-wise and region-wise. Furthermore, language-wise analysis was also done to gauge the difference in the growth of press in various languages in the state. Besides, the study also maps radio, TV, internet and mobile phones, media schools, and so on in the state.
