Abstract: There is a need for a conceptual framework and transdisciplinary construction to help understand and instruct automated news production for integrating AI into news routines. Using a conceptual method, this article attempts to explicate the journalistic background of automated news production and proposes a methodology of artificial language philosophy and a therapeutic approach. We argue that the methodology for automated news production should be able to demystify the technological process and clarify the relationship between AI and human journalists. The article introduces linguistics and narratology to decipher the process of automated news production and finally summarizes the typical narratives for automated news production. This article’s ultimate contribution is offering a transdisciplinary perspective to dissect automated news production for further studies.
