Abstract:
(8) "It is no accident that in mental illness there have been persistent experiments at bridging the gap between home and hospitals.... I hope that in the next decade there will be more effective steps to fill this gulf, either by reinforcement for the home which cannot cope, or by places of refuge which do not need to place a parking-meter beside each bed, or preferably both."
