Abstract:
Nepal is currently in the process of accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The accession process and negotiations are intricate and the commitments to conform to the rules and disciplines of WTO agreements have far-reaching re percussions on the economy of a least-developed country such as Nepal. Against this backdrop, this paper attempts to pinpoint the areas of compatibility and contra diction of the various agreements of the WTO with Nepal's relevant Acts and policies. The paper concludes that though most of the acts are compatible with the agreements, some of them need to be amended.
