Analyzing tourism productivity changes with complex configurations

Hai Dong, Qi Bin Liang and Nicolas Peypoch

Tourism Economics, 2024, vol. 30, issue 7, 1908-1913

Abstract: This paper explores the use of fsQCA in order to explain the productivity changes in two-stage analysis. In this way, the idea from Corne and Peypoch (2020) in the efficiency analysis framework is extended to the case of productivity indexes and indicators. An empirical illustration to the case of Chinese provinces emphasizes the complex configurations explaining tourism productivity and opens avenues for future research.
