Abstract:
This paper outlines the way in which European integration affects public services and pinpoints the demands which public service unions in Europe have to face. It also describes the membership structure, internal decision-making and working practices, basic objectives and fields of activity of the EPSU (European Federation of Public Service Unions). The author addresses the question of how the EPSU is trying to develop its influence over its own member organisations as well as vis-Ã -vis the European institutions. Current developments in European social dialogue in the public sector are also discussed.
