Abstract: The problem of generating a debate on the universal nature of rules to promote the principle of equity is the premise on which it is founded: in this case, action to tackle gender segregation. Segregation is caused by the quality of the labour demand, which determines women 's professional development on the internal labour market, and of the labour supply, which is influenced by cultural models and by the asymmetry of information between the genders. This article reconstructs the features of the action plan put in place to remove discrimination on access and the measures geared to facilitating the reconciliation of working and caring commitments and responsibilities. The changes made to recruitment and selection procedures affected not just a limited number of female workers but the entire workforce as well as persons seeking employment with this authority.
