Abstract:
Karaman O (2013) Urban neoliberalism with Islamic characteristics. Urban Studies 50(16): 3412–3427. DOI: 10.1177/0042098013482505 . On page 3416, the last two sentences of the first full paragraph should read: The “IMF-crafted, anti-inflationary, debt management economic program [mandated] checks on spending for public services and social reform†(Patton, 2006: 535). The compliant AKP quickly implemented policies “to cut public spending, control wages, roll back agricultural support, and privatize enterprises as well as natural resources†(Tugal, 2009: 55, citing Patton 2006). An acknowledgement section should appear at the end of this article, as follows: Many thanks to Vinay Gidwani, Helga Leitner, Eric Sheppard, John Archer, Mona Atia, Sinan Erensü, Murat Altun, Ilona Moore, participants of the 2009–2010 Writing Workshop at the Department of Geography, University of Minnesota, USA, and to the anonymous referees for their constructive comments and helpful advice on earlier versions of this paper.
