Vision, 2010, vol. 14, issue 1-2, 45-55

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of depositional (equity sensitivity), organisational variable, perceived organisational support (POS) and job variables (job stressors) on psychological contract breach (PCB). The paper also tests the moderating role of POS and equity sensitivity on the relationship between job stressors and PCB. Data were collected from managerial employees of two private manufacturing organisations. Analysis of 150 responses using hierarchical regression revealed the direct effects of equity sensitivity, perceived organisational support and job conflict on PCB. Based on the buffering hypothesis it was also found that POS moderates the relationship between Job conflict and PCB. Implications for managerial practice and future research are discussed.
