Abstract:
Globalization and economic liberalization have facilitated outsourcing of services beyond national boundaries. The development and proliferation of information technology and related infrastructure have aided the phenomenon. Hence, these services are categorized as information technology-enabled services (ITES). The continuous rise in the demand and supply of these services can very well be understood from the gains both service receiver and service provider firms are getting. Although the advantages are many, there are some issues of concern too. This study is an attempt to derive the issues and challenges faced by ITES firms in India as well as the mitigating strategies exercised by these firms.
