Abstract:
This article presents a model for hiring of MBA graduates based on the principle of ‘Bowman’s management coefficient’ model. Concepts of employability and an employability model developed by Vrat are compared with the regression model proposed and a modified model is proposed to calibrate the employability levels of candidates in hiring decisions. Based on the data from five hiring managers on 100 candidates, the erratic nature in hiring decisions based on the intuitive judgement of managers is demonstrated. Using their own judgement, a more consistent regression model developed improves the quality of hiring management graduates. The model proposed is easy to implement and can remove erratic component in hiring decisions.
