Abstract:
In order to meet the challenges of the New Millennium Economy and to make their companies globally and locally competitive, the top leaders should play the role of change seekers. The much needed organisational change demands a radical shift in the responsibilities of leaders and fundamental changes in the basic cultural system of organisations. Based on the available literature in the field, the paper presents the best practices of top leadership in the Indian organisations. The paper, finally, concludes that the top leadership is going to be the most crucial aspect of cultural-change management in the New Millennium Economy.
