Abstract: Leader is a person who leads. In this changing world a leader should be able to adapt to changes in order to be effective. This article attempts to give an exposure to the new generation leaders as well as developing others. According to the analysis one should be a visionary leader with wider reading habits, understanding skills, counselling skills, etc to be a change leader. The three important phases of developing leaders by the organisations are career track development, on the job training and off the job development. Out of these, off the job development is considered an effective tool to develop leaders for the 21st century.
