O Índice de Atkinson e a Sensibilidade das medidas de Desigualdade a Transferências Regressivas
Rodolfo Hoffmann
Brazilian Review of Econometrics, 1994, vol. 14, issue 2
Abstract:
The paper shows how to estimate the inequality within classes when computing Atkinson's index from a frequency distribution table. The sensitivity of inequality measures to regressive transfers with a given ratio between the two incomes is discussed and it is argued that this sensitivity should decrease with the income level, which is a more restrictive criteria than the one proposed by Shorrocks and Foster (1987).
