Competição monopolística e suas relações com competição perfeita
Sergio Werlang
Brazilian Review of Econometrics, 1982, vol. 2, issue 2
Abstract:
This article discusses the properties of monopolistic competitive economies with many economic agents. In the context of general equilibrium, the idea of inverse correspondence of generalized demand is treated, as is the mechanism for multiplying economies. Two central problems are presented: (1) is it possible that when an economy "grows" I it approaches a perfectly competitive economy; (2) is it true that perfectly competitive equilibria can be as closely approximated as we wish by monopclisticly competitive ones? Finally, the problem of fixed costs in discussed.
