Eucalyptus growth curves and the determination of the optimal cutting age

Rodolfo Hoffmann and Sonia Vieira

Brazilian Review of Econometrics, 1985, vol. 5, issue 1

Abstract: In this paper, the optimal cutting age for a growing forest is calculated, considering both a single cycle and a multicycle situation, when the following functions are fitted to data: generalized logistic, logistic, Gompertz and Mitscherlich. An example is provided based on an experiment carried out in Brazil with Eucalyptus.
