Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of time evolution of a matrix series. In the adopted methodology principal component analysis is used to characterize each matrix, and the time evolution analysis is obtained by comparing such components. An application of this methodology is presented in the analysis of time stability of the matrix series of National Energy Balance.
