Abstract: The most used means of transport in tourism and the most important at the same time are: by car, by train, by plane and by ship. The sustainable development of transport depends on a number of economic, technical, social, and political factors. That is why it is so important to investigate a lot of options in order to assure a sustainable development of the transport systems and to analyze the complementarity between the introduction of new technologies and other support mechanisms.
