THE PLACE OF E.U. TOURISM WITHIN THE FRAME OF WOLRD TOURISM

Adrian Liviu Scutariu ()

The USV Annals of Economics and Public Administration, 2013, vol. 13, issue 2(18), 48-55

Abstract: This article presents the evolution of the global tourism, highlighting the shares of the five major regions of the world: Africa, Middle East, America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Over the last decades there has been registered a significant increase in tourism worldwide, but the rates of growth vary from one destination to another. The countries of the European continent still maintain their position among the most important tourist destinations of the world, which brings them consistent income from international tourism; the EU continues to have a significant share in world tourism, even if the states of Asia and the Pacific have attracted more and more tourists in the last years.
