After several years of reforms in Russia small-scale business becomes independent sector of a national economy. Thenumber of small enterprises has reached 850 thousand, of them about 3 % make small enterprises of innovative type. In articlerise questions of effective functioning of small enterprises, the Russian economy it is necessary for 2,5-3,5 million smallfirms. Only at achievement of this critical weight small-scale business will be reliably and is built organically in a formed marketmechanism of the Russian economy.
