This article analyses the main reasons, which impel women to hold a small business, the features of women’s entrepreneurship and the main problems women usually have in this sphere. Also the article explains the importance of national, regional support for women’s entrepreneurship and proposes the main directions of this support. These questions become particularly urgent under conditions of women’s discrimination on the labor market, low salaries and high level of unemployment in Russia.
