Today in Russia , as elsewhere in the world , faces huge problems of inter-ethnic relations, which are a factor , including , and exacerbation of ethnicphobias , the development of inter-ethnic tensions and conflicts. On the Don and Krasnodar regions inhabited by more than 100 ethnic groups ,sometimes there are conflicts between nations . There is still interest in the issues of inter-ethnic relations in the region. During the Second WorldWar in many ways were the relations between several social and ethnic groups , ie Cossacks , the Nazi occupiers and representatives of Jewishnationality. The study of ethnic relations is relevant in several ways. This allows you to assess , first, the measures used by the state of the nationalfactor in addressing the socio -political and military issues , as well as the response of the state to the processes occurring in national relations inthe “extreme” periods of history. Second, the interference of national policy measures opposing sides. Thirdly , the origins of a number of contem - porary ethnic conflicts and problems in relations between the former Soviet Union .
