Abstract: The article in details considers some issues of the currency reform implemented in the Republic of Tajikistan. The problem is that until the end of 1994, Soviet Union paper currency were circulated in the country area, than since January 5, 1994 banknotes issued by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation were implemented. For the reason that in other republics of former Soviet Union national currencies were already put into circulation, all Soviet Union money accumulated in the Republic of Tajikistan. The author concludes that such a situation needs immediate introducing of the national currency.
