Abstract: This article describes statistical methods of classification for regional units of the Russian Federation. Authors offer to group federal units which have equal levels of living standards. Offered methods can be applied in the development of complex social and economic programs aimed at raising economic potentials of federal units. The authors conclude that considered statistical methods can be applied in the process of federal units grouping.
