Abstract: The paper considers main functions of the endowment and legal bases of its foundation, management and spending. Interests of private business and non-profit organizations are revealed. The paper contains a model and the analysis of world experience of the endowment functioning. It shows the problems appearing in the process of fund raising and spending, and through harmonization of the counterparts' interests.
