Abstract: The article devoted to the analysis of work of German innovation centers. In the focus of attention are the problems of social orientation of these centers. The analysis is based on the example of the centers located in the German federal land Brandenburg, the former region of GDR. The role of innovation centers in the economic and scientific activity in this region is highly important, especially because of some social problems after the unification of FRG and GDR in 1990. The innovation centers are used to solve such social problems in the region.
