Abstract: In the article, key parameters of the Russian insurance market condition are considered. They are: numerical characteristics of the insurance market; values and dynamics of macroeconomic parameters; place of the Russian insurance market in the world insurance market and the market of the countries Central and the Eastern Europe; the branch and regional characteristic of the market; nominal and real structure of the market. Thus, the analysis of the condition of the market is accompanied with the statement of problems, which should be solved, with a view of creation of the civilized Russian insurance market.
