Abstract: This article is devoted to the famous economic scientist and publicist S.F. Sharapov. Modem readers and researchers are probably not familiar with the insights of this economist. Therefore, the author's main goal is to present to a wider academic public the life and creative work of this Russian scientist. The article pays special attention to his original theory concerning the paper money system in Russia.
